The cottages in Bremore date from the mid 1930s and the garden previously served as a potager. The gardens have been extensively re-developed over the last ten years and extend to half an acre. We have endeavoured to create an informal planting scheme structured around 250 metres of wandering pathways which take the visitor through planting areas comprising of a wide variety of native and exotic plants.

Located on a gentle south facing slope we are on a fertile clay soil and due to our proximity to the sea we typically enjoy a long growing season. The plantings aim to take full advantage of the local soil and weather conditions. The year starts with a growing collection of snowdrops, followed by a wide variety of spring bulbs leading into summer. Our objective is to have interest all year round with a strong backbone of trees and shrubs gently pulling the planting arrangements together as the seasons progress.

This is very much a plantsman’s garden with many plants propagated onsite from seed and cuttings. This is our first officially open season with the Dublin Garden Trail and we look forward to welcoming you soon.
